In short
No tracking, no ads, no analytics cookies. You don't need an account to check in.
Your location is only sent during a check-in to verify you are nearby (150 m) and is not stored afterwards.
Anonymous session
When you check in, react or report, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous identifier (UID). It prevents duplicate check-ins (one per site and day) and abuse (rate limits). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in reliable numbers).
Check-ins, reactions, reports
We store: site, calendar day, result (yes/no/only machines/gone) and your anonymous UID; for the rage meter the value 0–10 and “affects me”. Only aggregated numbers are public.
Photos
Uploaded photos are resized automatically, all metadata (EXIF incl. GPS) is removed and – if enabled – faces and licence plates are blurred. Photos appear only after manual review. Please do not photograph people.
Push notifications
Only if you follow a site and consent do we store a push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) together with the list of sites you follow. Unfollowing removes the link; you can revoke the permission in your browser at any time.
Processors
Google Firebase (hosting, database, storage, authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging), region Frankfurt (europe-west3); data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. [Optional: Google Cloud Vision for blurring.]
Map tiles: OpenStreetMap Foundation – loading the map sends your IP address to tile.openstreetmap.org. Geocoding: Nominatim (OSM), server-side without your IP.

Retention
